Does anyone know if the engine mounting points are the same on a 200 and 300? Or is it custom mounts needed for an engine transplant?

Featured Replies

I was hoping it was that way around!

Would be good, but is it worth it?

Ive seen RB's in them, but with 500bhp out of the SR, is there a need?

Or do you have a spare VG and a blown 200sx?

Come to think of it though, if you can fabricate an off the shelf conversion kit and get it proven as a viable, cheaper option to the usual JZ, RB, SR upgrades then there might be something there for the drift community

and that would increase demand for the VG, thereby increasing value of the average zed....maybe?

Though I'm pretty sure the JZ is still a comparatively cheaper option all round, but having said that, decent un-abused JZ's are supposedly getting harder to come by these days

Correct, can pick up a S13 for £500 and very tempted to drop in the VG out of mine when I take it out for a rebuilt one. Thinking a mad track weapon, another single tub maybe?

Any info on that bud? Maybe a sub frame swap or just some fab work?

acording to guy who my dad sold a vg too the rack and sump are a pita to sort out but its doable and been done.Im sure a guy with your enthusiasm and willing could do it :gunsmilie:

You are really serious about this then.I thought you were joking when I first had those texts lol!

Don't get why you would want to put a heavy V6 over the front axle of a 200sx? Other than for masochistic pleasure.

I never ask myself why, did you not see project 1? That should answer the question :detective:

Well, best of luck with the new project - I'm sure it will be a success. I've seen more ridiculous ideas in my time, like a guy who shoe-horned a BMW V12 into a 3 series compact. Fast as fook, but cornered like an oil tanker! Why not stick a w-a-n-k-e-l in instead?

I'll have a spare VG30 and box when I do the Z so need to find a home for it

It'll also keep the cost down quite alot as most of the funds will go into the Z.
