Have just visited the Aus forum and caught a glimpse of a thread regarding early Z32's (i.e., 1989 model) suffering from something called soft valves. Aparently this particular problem was rectified in the 1990 production run. However, does anyone here know what this problem is all about, how to diagnose it (i.e., symptoms) and what to do about it.

Many thanks,

Danny

apparently most of the cars that had these soft valves have been either recalled and/or repaired already.

A compression leakdown-test should show you if you have leaking/damaged valves.
