Yes mate will be fine, Nissan OEM is a little cheaper, but that one has been fitted by a few members on here. Check the copper crush washer on the sump plug, you can normally get away with it being changed at every other oil change, but for the sake of a couple of quid and peace of mind against oil leak it will be worth getting one.

and don't under any circumstances use a tool to put the new filter on. you only need to dip the rubber ring end into the old oil and then hand tighten it onto the car.

if you use a tool to tighten it up to get it on, you wont get the bloody thing off next time lol

All good advice. I bought about 20 crush washers from Nissan at something like 50p each and I use a new one on every 3K oil change. The other thing I invested in was a very strong magnetic sump plug from Driftworks...it's scary the first time you use it and see how much gets stuck to it! I think the sump plug was a one-off investment of around £12and well worth it in my opinion. Good luck, after the first couple of changes you will be completely confident.

Ian why the hell would you contaminate the oil filter / seal this way when your changing the oil with fresh oil?

To clear it up then, smear the rubber seal of the filter with "new " oil NEVER dip the end of the filter in the old oil, also half fill it with new oil.

I just top up the filter with new oil and rub it around the seal.

Exactly right.
