Not what I expected to find .....

.... when I took my rear bumper off! :death:

Also, this is what has happened to the metal bars that go all the way round the bumper under the top rim to hold it to the car!

So, in order to put my bumper back on properly, has anyone got the big bar accross the back spare? And does anyone have these rails/bars to actually attach the bumper to the car?

Good point, let me know if they're any good matey.

Thankfully the bump doesn't seem to have done anything but bent the bar, there is quite a bit of damage to the bar, including a split in the metal on that left hand side port hole, where it's creased so much, the actual chassis and back end don't look touched. So can probably straighten that bar out and live with it, although strength wise would probably be a good idea to replace, what do you guys think?

It's done its job mate, I would replace with a s/h one. Vods has probably got on his breaker.

bugger mate, I got rid of my bumper bar the other week when my shell went :(

I'm actually quite happy, that considering the state of the bar that goes across the very back of the bumper, which has all but completely perished, yet the backplate of the boot and the floor-pan above the petrol tank and all inside the wheel-well are all fine. There are tiny sections on the inside of the backplate of the boot which was starting to rust, but I can sort them very easily and hopefully stop the rot!

If you need any help in knowing how to not include enormous pictures unnecessarily when quoting a post, let me know and i'll show you.

Just saves us having to look at the reloaded same pictures repeatedly in the 1 thread and also saves my tired finger scrolling the mouse wheel all the way to the bottom to read a couple of lines or in your case 1 line cos the view had to go so wide! :2guns:

lol that's probably my fault, I have 24" monitors so the pictures are about perfect width for mine, I forget not everyone does.
