I wanted to put a poll up but dont know how :-(

Also, which is the more desirable version? Or is there nothing in it??

Reason I ask is my dad reckons I am making a mistake putting a JDM rear bumper on my UK car as people will assume it is just a grey import...

What do you think?

BTW my dad has nothing against imports as he used to have a JDM GTO but just reckons UK`s are more sought after...

people swap them as the jdm does not have the rear mounted fogs in bumper so just waht you prefer i guess, will add pole now and mine is jdm

I've got a UK with a JDM rear bumper on it. It's a common upgrade for UK's as it looks better without the foglights.

But PLEASE don't start the old JDM is better argument as it goes on gor ever and never comes to a conclusion :)

Not sure why he thinks the UK are more sort after, The Tin worm (rust) plagues the UK spec zeds unless they have been REALLY well looked after. more people go for the JDM specs to avoid rust issues.

There are a few changes between the two though, uk has 3 point rear seat belts, as well as seat belts mounted on the frame rather than the door, rear fog light on the rear bumper, oblong horrible UK spec rear number plate. and English fuse box cover so you know what fuse has popped.

I hate the rears on uk specs. they look horrid.

Jdm ftw and get the corners lit up :cool3:

Same here, but I like the front on a uk, with the head light wash!!

Not all UK spec cars look horrid mate.

Uk spec on the left, JDM on the right.

I've got a JDM

And it has 3 point rear belts!

And the front belts are mounted on the b pillar!

And my fuse box has english pictures

But I did want to avoid the tin worm - hence buying an import.

Rear bumpers deffo look better - but if you were to resell, you'd just have to explain you fitted a Jap sepc bumper - sorted!

Think that the UK cars were generally a higher spec though - so probably more desirable from that point of view. Think the alternator was even an option on Jap zeds - cos they used candles instead of light bulbs!!

thats all zeds mate, not just JDM's

I kind of regret getting a uk car as its cost a small fortune getting sills welded, arches, tailgate etc.Got it nice now though.

once they are done, they should last mate, so worth getting them repaired in that regard. just keep the under seal sorted out every now and then, and look out for bubbling.

Don't be under the impression that only UK cars suffer from rust, a lot of the imports have been here for over 10 years and can also suffer from the tin worm.

jdm for me.Would probably avoid buying a uk spec due to the terrible stories about rot you hear and see.Even jdms are starting to crumble away with the masses of road salt they put down after a mm of snow In this country....

I chose my Uk car because it had a near full service history which i knew could be verified, insurance is supposed to be cheaper, swings and roundabouts really.

Surely there will be more JDM owners that UK? with the UK cars only sold between 1990 and 1994, then take in cars that have been written off or broken for other reasons, then I'm sure it doesnt leave many UK cars in the country. Would be interesting to know how many UK are actually left, from memory not a huge lot were sold to begin with.

Perhaps the UK ones will be a worth more than the imports due to there rarity.Get in quick and buy mine £9000.00 ono.

Would be in totally original unmolested condition, low miles and 1 or 2 owners from new.

Mine is still more rare though lol

I did exactly as you've done Dan, I hate the long rear plate on the back of a UK model, the import recess looks so much better. Looking forward to the pics of it fitted!

Only thing i have found a difference with them is insurance. UK is half of what JDM is. uk being £725.

...i have JDM ;)
