Baz Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 I've got a few HKS gauges to get fitted and plumbed in, but not sure exactly where/how to get the senders located. First one is an oil temp gauge, I know they usually fit into a sandwich plate above the oil filter, but this one has a small bit of pipe and a clamp so must have been clamped onto somewhere?! Other one is an exhaust temp gauge, how am I supposed to put this into an exhaust? do I need to get something welded in place, then the nut on the sender screws onto it clamping in place? Thanks for any help, btw they came off a Z :thumbup1: Quote
Baz Posted May 13, 2011 Author Posted May 13, 2011 My oil temp sender is fitted to the sump plug ! Quote
JaiKai Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011  Not the best place then ? Gives a good reading where it is and doesn't protrude to low as to get bashed. Quote
Baz Posted May 13, 2011 Author Posted May 13, 2011 I have no idea LOL  so what, it IS the sump plug on yours? Quote
JaiKai Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 Yeh, although the sender doesn't look as big at the one you pictured. Mine just replaces the standard sump plug as its the same thread. No ideas about where to put yours, sorry ! Quote
vodkashots Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 Usually screws into the sandwich plate, I have a oil temp sensor for sandwich plate if that helps you more baz, exhaust temp? Why the bloody hell you want to know about that? Lol get a water one, it's much more useful lol Quote
Baz Posted May 13, 2011 Author Posted May 13, 2011 Look Ian I've got these guages and I'm gonna fit them  I do have a sandwich plate but its a different thread. Might see if I can get a bush to convert it? dont know if thats possible but maybe worth a try. Quote

Steams Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 Your going to have to drill a hole in your exhaust to fit that sender matey. Not a job I'd fancy doing. Or you could just wang it down one of pipes  I have a feeling that if you took that pipe of the oil one it would reveal a plug that will screw into the sump plug. :) Quote
