Sadly, no. There was an Australian guy who did an interface to PDA but there were only some demo units here in UK. There's another Australian bloke who does know his stuff and has software which does run on PDAs with serial input and I spoke with him a lot about a Bluetooth adapter from Consult port to PDA/WinMo phones but nothing practical ever came out of it because there wasn't a cheap/reliable enough bluetooth device to plug into the Consult port. Since OBD11 is global standard, there's a big enough market but for Consult?

He does do a great display though if only I could work out a way of making it look nice rather than the boxy thing it is

Looked at this a while back... and found this when trawling the internet - shouldn't be too hard if you;re good with a soldering iron??

Good find, This is exactly what i had been planning myself. Great to see the LCD and circuitboard will fit.

Unfortunately, there was no further info on how it had been done - I expect the the LCD ribbon had been extended and the circuit board buried under the lower dash panel; just the function buttons to re-locate then, I guess the port could be left on the board for the amount of time it takes to drop the panel.

Has anyone actually used one over here?

Now that's a damn good idea. Well spotted, Rich666. I'll drop him a line to see if he has seen it - maybe it will nudge him into a more productionised version to make it easier.

Then I can beg Yowser to do mine :D

I have the PDA version in my z :)

Is that permanently mounted somewhere (fnarr fnarr) or just on a PDA car mount? There is more flexibility with the PDA display about what to show and error codes etc but the built-in display is kind of neat. Plus it has a pass through so you can then plug in a laptop and run the ECUtalk s/w on that simultaneously for fault finding, logging etc. Don't know if that would also run ConZult.

I was wondering if something dropping down from the visor might work - perhaps on a friction hinge. The other idea was to make something up from the A-pillar. Trying to think of where it can be seen and also within fingertip reach.

But I do like that built-in look. Ahhhh decisions decisions...

The ECUTalk display is available without enclosure. Peter sent these pics

and he says

you can get a $20 discount if you dont need the enclosure. Here are some pictures (of earlier revision) of what's inside. Essentially theyve got the LCD seperated from the rear PCB - it only needs the 16 pin connection on the left extended (the right side is mechanical only).

Interesting...
