ive got a problem with my zx since i bought it the spedo is well out spedo reads 22mph=30mpg

45mph=70mp

and worse of all when i first got the car i though my god 70ish feals rather fast in this car

75mph=116mph

how do you know this??? think i have the same problem.

Does it have a facia put on or a kmh to mph converter (Possibly miswired) ?

A quick conversion has 116kmh = ~73 mph that may be may be a coincidence though...

 

I imagine if none of the above, then a faulty sender unit but I am only guessing.

 

Best way to test is compare to your sat nav CoolQ.

when i reached 75mph and was passing the odd car as if they where stoped i then put a tom tom in whitch told me the true speed

Probably comparing it with satnav speed setting

just dont want to drive around with a sat nav all the time would prefer the spedo to work really no idea the spedo in mph only gose to 110

Sayers had the same problem. He had kph clocks with a mph face.

Uk clocks sorted it.

It seems like a 110mph face/clock has been put on instead of a 180,so not giving a true reading from the dial face.

or a manual conversion with the wrong speedo cog left in !

well if it helps anybody ( and depending on rear connection configuration ) i now have a multitude of dash clusters, perhaps the 180 KMH jap faced dial with my converter could transplant into someones cluster without too much trouble, as ever welcome to bell me on 07929159828

what conversion have you had done ???

I had a manual conversion done on my Auto TT and I they put an NA box on it..... that has a different speedo drive cog apparently so when the speedo says I'm doing 70 mph in fifth I'm actually doing 85mph

 

Other gears are out and reading under as well

 

Just waiting for the correct drive cog to be fitted

 

It's got B all to do with the Kph to Mph converter
