i got a sssssssssshhhhhhhhhhing noise from under gear stick, it is making noise in all gears, worse in 2nd and 4th, seams to be down in power aswell a little bit, any ideas what it is and what i need to do to stop the noise, driving me nuts lol, thanks

has your little rubber gaiter just popped off. around the gear stick. very common and gives that awfull noise you are worrying about in 2nd and 4th but its just normal:)

Your rubber gearstick gaitor (underneath the leather gaitor) is split or has come loose at the front. When your in 2nd and 4th the gaitor is stretched and the gap opens allowing more noise though, and what you can hear is typical drivetrain road noise coming through.

Is amazing how much noise the rubber gaitor stop.

If it is down on power, try an ECU error code check or boost leak test.

thank you guys for your help, has just popped off, put it back on and tuck for quick spin and noise has gone, is wired how much sound that rubber stops and that is just normal noise it makes underneath because it is a awful noise it makes, was thinking is was a gasket or oil in gearbox or clutch going or something so glad was something quick and easy like that and not something big. With power I mentioned was doing the Speedo and put mph head unit in which didn’t work along with fuel gauge but didn’t realise with the fuel gauge as was going down until it stuck on ¼ point but I completely ran out of fuel, since then it has been coughing sometimes and little down on power but trying flushing through with red x and hopefully that will sort that out
