Morning all

Resubscribed, the Wife had serious words with me about advertising my car, and the upshot is, I cant go through with it. I absolutely love the look of the car, even trying to convince my wife it has a nicer rear end than the white 2007 Lamborghini Gallardo we saw yesterday - lol.

Ive removed it from ebay, and Im gonna see how money goes so I can start sorting out the little bits that niggle me.

I met a really nice chap who is now on this forum (Sean?) who came round to view car (even took his shoes off to get in!), who I guess as hes local I'll be seeing more of in future.

Sean, When you pick up a zed youre more than welcome to pop round mate for coffee/beer. I have a conzult here if you wanna borrow that too :)

Anyway, wife has told me to start taking a bit of the car and bring it in the house and start cleaning it. (Cant ask for a better wife). Some bits I cant do (like the side skirt damage amd rear rim damage) but gonna see what I can do later with them.

I think Peaches offered me a machine polish :) Does that still stand bud.

So much I wanna do with car, one being to quieten down the exhaust more, I've paid to have it done twice now but I think its still too loud. The exhaust bungs Ive seen on fleabay wont fit my tailpipe, so will prob try and *swap* my exhaust for a more standard one later.

Anyway, now a fully paid and very happy member.

What exhaust have you got that's too loud ?

I've got a Mongoose S/Steel system and that's about as loud as I'd want to go, but I get more noise on crap road surfaces from the wide tyres !

running a custom one from ExhaustsUK

its full stainless steel with Cobra backboxes.

I had the middle boxes removed, from what I remember when they done this the X pipe was also removed - I need to double check this.

Also decatted.

That's built to be loud !

You could probably sell that one and buy a mongoose or do a swap with someone !

I think mine is a mongoose and even has the cats still in it, lovely sound out of mine, but not loud ENOUGH for my liking, I might swap ya! :D

Mines still got the CATS in as well and that makes a louder purr than standard, but not too loud...

definately interested mate, Would wanna hear yours and see what the tailpipes look like as I lurve mine :)

Dunno how easy it would be to convert a LWB exhaust to a shortie

Yeah good point, I'd have to convert it the other way around lol, maybe not such a good idea :(

Mines your typical quad exit SS exhaust. My neighbour popped his head in the garage the other day and commented "That makes some noise dunnit!", but I personally think it's not quite loud enough on load, I like loud! :D

You can see my exhaust tips in my gallery.

The offer definitely stands mate :D

And if I were you I'd pop back to Exhausts UK and see if they'll quieten it down for you - they sorted out a problem with my last Z pipes months after making the system, no charge.

cheers mate, I;ll get myself sorted out and arrange to pop and see you one day later this summer.

Exhaust UK told me I cant go any quieter on the car without going back to totally standard and restricted, and they want more money.

I paid something like £300 for the rear boxes, took it back after 8 months or so (not really used car) and they charged me the same again. It has less boom in it now but still too loud I think.

Cheers for the offer of the polish, Just gonna try and tart up a few little bits and bobs first :)

I wish you had brought her to the meet in Doncaster. Sean came and as you said is a nice kid and will be a good addition to the club

Hi Jay,

Glad to hear your keeping the car and are back on the forum, it was stunning and I could tell you where a true enthusiast. It also drastically changed my opinion of the SWB, asif I wasn't having an hard enough time finding a clean LWB manual TT :( . That said with any luck I I'll be picking up the PentRoof car in the for sale section next week and following getting it up here I'll have to give you a shout.

I showed the pictures of your car to my friend who did the pictures for the meet in Doncaster yesterday. He was smitten and wouldn't mind taking a few professional pictures if you wanted. He's also an avid detailer but I think you've got enough offers to deal with on the free detail.

Look forward to see what you do with it buddy, for what its worth though I think the exhaust sounded great, that said I am 22 :)
