A bit of trimming

I think it,s quite common for the covering to peel off the inside of the targas and mine were terrible so i thought i,d re cover them.

 

zedrebuild513.jpgI removed the end caps and handle surround , the covering just about fell off !! i used a wire brush in as drill which removed the remains of the foam and glue as well , cut a bit of trimming vinyl to size , sprayed both with contact adhesive and once touch dry put the covering on , trimmed it up , glued the end caps back on and jobs a good un , looks as good as new .

    where did you get the material, I've been looking all over for a color match and yours looks like it does, good job though matey, really need to do mine just need to find the material.

    I just ordered a piece of black vinyl off ebay Ian , it wasn,t anything special bud .

    Looks really good Al, i did mine a few years ago in leather, but need redoing. I didnt let the glue go off before i put the end caps back on, ended up with a bit of a push back on the ends lol.
