well i was driving back from tenby today and after putting my foot down i had a misfire but after about 5 miles it cleared its self! the zed done 3 more times and everytime it cleared on its own?!?? any ideas? its a twin turbo manual with i belive a serious 2 ptu fitted

have had same with mine over the weekend but luckilly it never cleared itself this weekend so i could trace it, did u find it happened when hitting a bump in the road? first thing i would check (and these were my problem) check your injector connectors mine were corroded & loose as the metal retaining clips are missing on mine, other than that just check your electrical connections (coil packs,cas,ptu etc)

i had this matey and it was my injectors, they started to fail one after the other, it was an intermitant missfire that gradually got worse, if you put a long screwdriver on top of the injector and the other end in your ear ( not all the way in LOL ) you should hear the injector clicking away, try it on the others for comparison, clean your connectons too as they do get quite green,

 

what i did was buy a second hand set of injectors send them away to be cleaned and refurbed and changed them all over for complete piece of mind runs like a dream now

ive just bought injector connecters off ebay for about £36 for the set
