Is it the ball joint on the hub that your hicas arms fits to ??

yeah the arms used to go onto balljoints but all thats been binned now, just wana cut out the hub what i have too to fit dw orange ones, think the ball joints have to come out first then grind flange and push out the rest

Yes the ball joints have to come out, like in my thread grind em' flush and knock em' through.

good luck mine were a nightmere to get out, after i ground the bit off. i had to use tons of heat and pullys to get the little buggers out.

Yeah, i did the same. Blow torch and pullers - it's the only way.

so you grind the thread right down and the shaft then heat it up and bang it out, thats it?

No worries mate, i know you only want it done yesterday, im with you on that one lol

lol no i live a very busy life and when i finally get a couple of hours to play i like them to be constructive,

what does my head in is iv been looking all last night and today and odd times last week to try and read up on this and i found odd bits here and there but nothing usefull then you just jump in show me that thread, i read it and 30seconds later i know exactly how to do it and reckon i could of done it this afternoon.

im obviously doing something wrong, i wonder how many times iv asked about something before after doing a search and really its been there all the time

thanks again though mate

I removed my rear hubs then used a press to get them out, not the shortest but probably the easiest least swear word way!

I had an utter mare with one of mine ( drivers side, it was really cack handed to swing a hammer at for one thing) Tried the grind/heat whack and just got bloody and angry.

Welded a bit of threaded bar to the bush then poked it through a large socket, nut on it and it wound out easy as you like.I wont even bother trying anything else when I do the next ones :tt2:
