Maf failure will normally put the car in 'limp mode' and it will run like a bag of nails and not over 3k ish.

You can get a pool of water under the nose cone and it the moisture gets sucked in and kills the wire, quite a common fault.

Coil packs can also be poor when hot - test the spark on them - orange = shite, blue to white = good.

ok will do i think i may of found my culprate today i noticed that im missing the rubber seal under the passanger wiper to engine bay earlier! also gave the maf and air filter a good clean and touch wood she is running sweet at the mo! any recommendantions on replacement maf and air filters?

dave i dont mean to be rude mate but im sure people where pointing you this way last week. before the oil change. as i say not being rude just saying....you know. anyways i agree maf does sound likly, many people pop off the trim under the passenger side wiper above to battery to allow excess heat to escape, doesnt normally cause issues. if you have an aftermarket air filter, as you say no aftermarket nose panel. often these will allow the water to do what steve said. im sure and some one will help to claify but if you pop off the maf connection and reset the ecu. it should idle properly, but not rev above 3k mine had this issue a few months back.better still if you coould get sum1 to datascan or conzult it this would show up.
