Came into work this morning (1 part of a 4 unit long barn) , run a Van Hire Business, only to find the units have been turned over, Thought i was lucky when i went into mine and found the alarm still active..then to discover the oiks have taken the Cat Exhausts of my 2 Rental Vans, (cost me 2K when it was done 6 months ago)

 

is it a coincidence there is a travellers site 1/2 mile down the lane.. They keep protesting innocence and want a second chance, doesn't help when this happens.

Sorry to hear this!! It is a nightmare when this happens - I work for Tesco running the home delivery service at one of the stores and we have been hit several times now for the cats. They only seem to take Iveco cats from ours though?? Not sure if they can get at them on the Sprinters. They also hit the local Iveco depot in the same nights each time it's been done so every time they've done us there's been a few days delay while they order some more cats in for us. Can you not claim for this through insurance? Just with you saying it cost you 2k last time it happend I hope you dont have to pay out of your own pocket!! Although its still a nightmare with the disruption it causes and I hope you find some way of catching them in your area.

First time it happened was the night of the day we got delivery, didn't want to put a claim into our insurers on Day1 , as for this time, we'll see., still, it has to have manufacturers parts, 3 week wait from Germany (VW) so thats 3 weeks no rental, we suffer what ever way.

Cant really understand what they get, platinum ? but then how do they get at it!!

damn pikeys! nothing but a cancer on the country (please note, there is a difference between gypsies and pikeys!!!) we get them at work asking for scrap, our boss told them that if he saw them again theyd be buried under the slurry lagoon at his farm lol

Yeah, I used to live near a rental place, and knew the owner as I rented vans of him on several occasions (nice chap), same happened to him, pikeys move in nearby, and all his vans are missing the cats within a few days.

And they wonder why no-one wants them nearby !!

The boys in Blue??? well they gave me an incident number.....
