They are a bugger to drill out, took me a dozen drill bits and a couple of hours to get one out.

Ive got the downpipes off but the bolt has snapped in the turbo elbow didnt want to remove that incase i snapped more bolts.

Remove the turbo elbows from the car and with a thin angle grinder wheel cut two slots into the elbow in a closing V shape where the stud is located and you will be able to get the stud out then, when reassembling use long nuts and bolts with good washers on, sounds odd but is so much easier than drilling out.

Not that bad actualy, get some good quality cobalt bits (stubbies for the first few sizes), run your drill at a slow speed and work up from 3mm to 10mm in 4 or 5 stages.

It took me around an hour a stud.

Of course I bow to Jeffs superior experience, but just wanted to say from recent experience, drilling out isn't that bad a job once you have the right drillbits, just a little time consuming :)

if you've already got the box out, maybe remove the downpipes so you can get them in a vice etc.?

I meant remove the elbows! oops.....
