Bloody hell

So I'm driving back from dropping my mum at Heathrow on Sat morning...3.30am start...it's about 6am and I'm about 2mins from home sitting at a roundabout when the white van in the lane next to me decides he doesn't want to follow the white lane lines but instead decides to cut across my lane....despite me sitting in it!

Absolutely nothing but bad luck for me and this Zed...:mad2:

He even had the nerve to start going off at me for driving into him!! Despite me being absolutely stationary! Soon as I pointed out where the paint/FG was on the road (i.e. a fair way into my lane) he soo shut up and we just exchanged details. Really hope he doesn't try and be a **** and gets it sorted properly through his insurance! Was going to give it a couple of days before calling his insurance company to see what's being done....

Ouch bad luck mate :( are you going to fix it or just replace the wing? there's some pretty reckless driving out there by some people .. gutting .

Not sure yet, I guess it depends on which works out cheaper tbh.

Going to do my best to get the other guy's insurance to pay for it but will likely get the car back to Custom Exotics and have it done properly....hoping it won't cost too much as if the guy decides to deny liability I'll probably choose to pay out of pocket than to affect my premium/ncb...

what a dick mate! some people just don't know how to drive. At least it doesn't look too bad and it is just a surface repair job as opposed to having bits bent etc. Still doesn't make you feel any better i'm sure.

What a :xxx: It wont effect your NCB or premium if he admits liability tho, and deffo tell them it NEEDS to be done at custom exotics too...

Yea, just a lovely crease along the wheel arch. Had to get the crowbar out to pull it back out so I could get the car home.

My own insrance company (Elephant) said that they couldn't guarantee my premium wouldn't be affect even if he admits liability as any accident is taken into consideration, though it's rated it seems.

As for custom doing the work, provided the price quoted is in line with what the 'specialists' at the insurers thinks it should cost, it should be fine, so I'm not soo worried. Then again, it's yet to be seen what the other guy's insurer will say!

Sorry to see that mate:no:

Did you take some pics of his van over the white lines to prove he was at fault - otherwise it's just your word against his if there were no witnesses?

I hope you get it sorted without too much hassle.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

DId you inform the police, because if it turns out he isnt insured, or say in a work van thats not covered out of work hours, unless reported and he denys it, then you are out of luck and pocket. Plus he gets away with it.

Should be ok to fix mate.

That;s the one thing I didn't get a pic of - we were stuck together so I couldn't even get out without moving the car. I didn't think to clamber out of the other sidce as I was sat in the middle lane of a roundabout approach.

I did take pics of the junction after though and plenty of pics of my car and his van. Thing is...from the damage I reckon it's obvious he did it. If I'd driven into him there would be damage to the front corner of my car...but the damage and gradient starts at my wheel arch and works back to front....

Will just have to wait and see I guess...
