Well this morning i drove my 300 zx and it was messing about loads! no boost, wouldn't idle, wouldn't rev, wouldn't drive slow or fast!! i got it to my garage and couldn't see anything wrong however i had a slight leek from the boost gauge pipes and one had collapsed so i try to change the pipe however as soon as i pulled the pipe of the valve the valve snapped (Drivers side wing under windscreen) i have now blanked this pipe off and the car seems to be running ok would this small valve cause all these problems? or is it where it was cold and there is something else i need to check?

also what oil should be in the car? it has 15 40 as that is what autodata recommended? im wondering if the oil being to thick would cause me problems in the mornings? also it was raining over night but the air filter felt dry?

and if anyone has a boost gauge valve for sale im after one!!!

thanks dave

boost leaks cause havock with these cars. its best tio check out theres no boost leaks sooner rather than later. i wouldnt of thought it would make it run taht bad generally problems like are more associated with larger leaks. if you dont find any leaks then disconnecting the maf and seeing if it iderls ok will out rukle that. the most common running issues seem to be poor eltrical connections with injectors and coild packs. malfountioning maf or ptu. or boost leaks. i dont know exactly where you live but it would be a good idea to pop your car along to jeff at zedworld for a health check as its qyuite new to you isnt it? he does a set fee service that goes over the engine etc and checks its in good condition and can sort out any running issues. i wouldnt bother with other garages other than z specialists most specialist jap garages are pretty limited with there experience with our cars and alot of normal garages wont touch them. trust sum 1 whho has been ripped off with there zed only go to a known zed garage.
