No silly tried that

well and truly stuck

and car is in park ( an auto)

Hi Suzie, have a read of this, it may help regarding the key problem

http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=147767&highlight=KEY+BARREL

The power light flashes, will determine the possible problem, you can do your own gearbox diagnostic http://pexcom.com.au/z32cms/e107_plugins/content/content.php?content.214

You can get the autoselector out of park, by pushing the rod down just in front of the selector.

You dont need a remap, you need to get the car put onto conzult, which is a laptop diagnostics program and it will be able to tell you what isnt running right and what sensor if any is causing the problems. Fuelling could be duff Oxygen sensors, MAF, temp sensor.

You need to get your car to zedworld for a proper check up and peace of mind, Jeff and his team know these cars inside out and will be able to tell you exactly what needs to be done. They are based in Coleshill near Birmingham, so not too far for you.http://www.zedworld.co.uk

I had this problem, and loads of other problems when i bought my car a few weeks back, all the problems were caused by the roof drainpipe leeking water over the fusebox in the drivers footwell. Check the fusebox for water before spending any money.:boat:

ok thank all for comments will try all of what you said cheers

suzie

I was unknowingly missing a fuse (room light fuse) which caused weird random electrical probelms for me. I still find it weird that NOT having a fuse in could cause so many weird problems.

But yeah, check your fuse box isn't soaked from the drain pipe. I thought this was my problem, but pulled the fuse box out and it was dry.
