ZX sounds more manly now.....

Well it had to go - the stock horn, that is.......

.....on Saturday I bought a Ring "high performance" air-type horn from Halfords. So yesterday I replaced the OEM item. It was a bit fiddley to do given the space issue, but (with a few scratches on my hands) it's now done!!

I'm no longer embarassed to honk - it's really not loud and intimidating like the Merc's twin jobbies, but for £14.99 it has definitely made an improvement!!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

I think it's a German thing mate! Mercs, BMs and top of the range Vauxhall/Opel cars come with twin air horns - one high tone and one low.

They make a very impressive "PARP" rather then the pathetic "beep" that comes as standard with the ZX. IIRC a decent scrappy will have the twin horns from a top line Omega or Vectra for not too much cash! The only issue is the space you have behind the ZX bumper.....

........which is why I took the easy option from Halfords when I happened to see the Ring item there over the weekend.
