I have had one cylinder drop out on me yesterday so have been fault finding this morning. Took off coil pack plug and there was no difference to the engine note so i removed plug and coil pack started her up and Found I have spark so coil pack and plug are fine Right I have checked the resistance of my injector on cylinder one and it's showing no resistance. So now I have a dilemma I have a full set of tt injectors on my spare engine, I know the na ones are 270cc and the tt ones are 370cc

Now what I Am assuming all I need to do is to swap them over and get the ecu re mapped. Am I right in thinking this?

Featured Replies

Yep , fit all 6 and have injector rating changed in ecu settings with a remap.

Easier just to get a 2nd hand NA injector ?

Just buy a single n/a injector (£35) so much easier and with no advantage of fitting TT ones it makes sense to stay stock.

and you can do the dremel trick to the plenum, if your only changing one, unless your plenum is polished?

plenum is already off now. did it this afternoon.

does mean im able to finish off my throttle body water feed cleanup and sort out the gunk and shit under the plenum.

may still just buy a single injector as tbh i want to use the tt ones in my build.

Easier? EASIER? FFS when I tried to do just that in Aug 09, I would have had more luck in finding some rocking horse doodoo.

A point made to me at the time was that if one injector is u/s, you might find the others not far behind. Anyway, it was so difficult to find anyone splitting an injector set back then, I got a set from the US (Deatschwerks as supplied by Concept Z). Can't help with the spares from my old set, sorry, I eBayed them last October time and got £0.01p each! £35? I should coco.

Good luck

I think what Jeff means Gio is that he could maybe supply a tested N/A injector for 35 bucks.

tbh whilst i've heard of injectors going bad in the past, it is generally only 1 and not really that often either.

Luck of the draw I guess.

Sure, Smithy, if he'd had one when I needed one, I would have bought it! As you say, luck of the draw. Sort of glad I've got full set, though, since it's my daily driver.

Just seen hellraiser's other post - he needs the early type (phase 1) which are even harder to find. Deatschwerks don't do them but they do an adapter kit. http://www.deatschwerks.com/product-search?keyword=300zx bloody nora, just looked and the prices have gone up a tad from 2009!

And in Hellraisers case he only needs an early series injector which are relatively common.
