what can cause the engine to run rich? just my mate reckons the car is running running rich but said it wont do any harm, if he is right I would still like it to run right lol.

Faulty O2 sensor can make it run rich

Cheers will get it checked mate.

running over rich can lead to bore wash ..where the excess fuel effectively de greases the cylinder walls removing the oil ..the obvious then occurs and the cylinders get worn and scored .......just a heads up as its happened to afew people i know that ignored the car running over rich ......( it was down to incompetent mapping by so called tuners )

thanks mate, will change the o2 sensor and have it checked, any other ideas apart from the o2 sensor?
