Any ABS experts about..?

My ABS has never worked.

I did the "diagnostic thing", but the LED on the control unit doesn't light - ever.

I checked the power/ground connection at the big plug and all seemed fine.

Any clues, anyone?

Ta.

How do you know it doesnt work?

I know that one sensor on mine doesnt work, only because of the TC light. But it doesnt show up on the ABS diag.

What Spec car do you have? I'm not sure the Jap NA had ABS.

How do I know? 'cos when I slam on the anchors, the she locks up and slides for ages! smile.gif

Mines a 1990 Jap spec TT. It definately has ABS: there's an "ABS" sticker on the brake booster and a big lump of metal in the boot with a motor and lots of pipework into it.

look in the service manual (on line version available on this forum somewhere). there are several pages of diagnostic procedures for the ABS. Too much to go into here. good luck.
