anyone know much about these? looking at using one to lift my ipod as suggested in my other thread by hellraiser

there is also another idea i was thinking of last night. in the touch and spray air fresheners they have a mechanism that when you press the button it pushes the bottle upwards and then releases. for a fiver you could modify that to fit :)

now im liking that we have one in the spare room the now off to investigate

ok after a bit of tinkering abou with this idea iv decided not to go for it there just isnt enough room to fit the motor section in. my new i dea is to use a magnetic push release catch like the ones you use on kitchen cabinets. so that i could push the ipod and it would pop up to let me take it out

what about a small worm gear?

Why even bother with all that, just have a spring loaded clip in a banana shape.

 

The top half has a ledge that sits over the top of the ipod, pull it back and the base pushes it up!

 

Haven't got time to draw you a diagram at work but such a simple idea and you could knock it out in an afternoon

they cabinet thing a was talking about will work fine was looking at them in b and q last night was more doing the motor thing just for the sake of it but got loads on my list to do now so the easy approach will do the job nicely lol
