Was chatting to a guy in my local car shop regarding decat for the zed and he said vosa is fining anybody 6k if you have a decat on your car wether you play dumb or not, got one on my scoob and was going to get one for the zed but can nt afford 12k fine lol.

before 1993 a cat isnt required for an mot as the car is tested "non cat" vosa dont have data sheets for imported vehicles so would say its *****cks tbh.

Thats my thoughts I said no way and he said its true came into force in November ish last year, so he can not sell them either because he will get a fine.

dont understand why he cant sell it! all he has do do is write a disclaimer to state that the exhaust he supplies is for motorsport/offroad use only then the responsibility lies on you!

there is a 5k fine if you replace a cat with a non eu type approved cat, but not yet found the legislation on removing a cat from a vehicle which should have one, according to vehicle type approval

Well, my car just flew through the emissions test on a decat test, on Monday. the guy did try testing as a cat car, but i told him its pre 92, so didnt need them, and said it came from japan like that. he then ran the plates on his machine and had to retest the emissions as non catalytic converter.

 

Co % Max Limit 3.500, my actual value 1.314 (and that was with the meter up a pipe with a misfire on idle)

 

HC ppm vol: Max Limit 1200, my actual value 362

 

So it was a pass. well chuffed.

is that like a £2000 fine for not having a railway ticket :lol::lol:

just tell the judge you own a zed so how the fvkk are you able to afford the fine
