Hey,

I've recently broken my drivers seat up and down function.....might have asked it to lift too much weight.

Pressing the rear knob left (to go up) results in horrible clicking, the seat tries to climb, but whatever gears lift it have broken. It will lift if I'm not sitting on it, with only the occasional gear clicking noise.

Anyone know if this is repairable?

I don't think the base of the seat is flat right now, maybe tilted slightly and perhaps giving me back pain! Or I'm just getting old. :wheelchair:

Might need the switch cracking open and the contacts all cleaning up. Mine had a similar problem in that the driver side back rest woud angle back but then would not rise back up again. It is more likely that than gears. If the motor runs in one direction it usually works in the other one too.

You better know electrics and be brave to crack the joystick switch open as contacts and springs and ball bearings all pop out when you open it.

Contact burn was the problem with mine. All fine now but a fiddly couple of hours work.

Thanks, but it definitely isn't an electrical problem, the seat is trying to move, making clicking and crunhing noises and does move slightly, but then drops again, this happens at both sides of the base, at the rear. I think maybe I'm going to have to get the chair out and have a look.
