Isn't Groover from that way?

I'm from Portsmouth, been on holiday to IOW few times, seem to remember it being quite dull....

Cattle roads, pot holes, the military road on the south side of the island is a great run, some straights and windies.

There was a meet a few years back when quite a few came over. The ferry is the main drawback, the most expensive stretch of water in the world to cross (for distance).

When i went to Disney Paris last sept, it cost me £53 return on wightlink and £38 return to france, work that one out lol.

Its a joke sometimes, i used to take my van over every week at £150 a go, i now keep it in Pompi and get the hover over, much cheaper.

We could do a zed ramble :lol:

The IoW is a nice place to visit; although not really for blatting around in a ZX.

Apart from the A3055 (Military Road) Graham mentions, The Island more suited to casual cruising and taking in the coastal views. It is good for ZX photography though - and owing to its size you can get round it reasonably quickly without having to hoof it everywhere!

The ferry is expensive (if you take your car) for non residents though - a day return is about £40 but for a week you're looking at well over £90 now:oops:

All in all it's a civilized "Old England" (at least for us tourists) and I try to visit once a year. I'm returning again this September if any Island Zedders are around BTW.........

Richard:yes:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
