Burning rubber smell?

I get a very strong burning rubber smell from the off side rear wheel arch on occasion, it doesn't seem to be the tyres as a) they are not hot, b) I have TC fitted and c) it happens even if I have been driving like and OAP!

Anyone got any ideas, I'm a bit lost on this one?

Most likly the brake is stuck on by the sounds of it. Or it could have been a plastic bag got caught in the wheel area and melted on the disc

i'd go with the plastic bag burnt on to the wheel or more likely on the exhaust. it takes fookin ages to clear up thoug. best way to check is to jack the car up and inspect the exhaust pipe from around the middle of the car and see if there is anything discoloured or burnt on it.

had it on mine and it was worse when i drove slow, the wind doesn't blow the smell of it past the car!!
