you've probably left one of the wires out or a connection has come loose. sounds like the loopback circuit that tells you if your bulbs are working. not a major problem obviously provided all your bulbs are working!

dont know if you have to leave this wire out for the 4 round light conversion but i wouldnt have thought so. go over all the wiring again and just double check you aint left something out or in the wrong place.

sorry i couldnt help any more!!

Warning light?

I thought that was just the light that acknowledge that your light are on.

That red light comes on, on my UK but all my bulbs work fine.

So is this red light a warning or not?

Hi Mark,

I've heard of this symptom before. It seems that the warning system (the dash light) comes on when it detects a fault in the resistance across the lights. When you changed your rear light cluster there are a few bulbs which are no longer in use. Therefore the system registers a fault and turns the warning light on. I'm not sure how you're going to resolve this issue but it has been mentioned on this forum before so perhaps you can do a search.

Hope this goes some way towards explaining what's been going on with your car.

Take it easy!

Danny

I read about this here before.

I'm sure someone said there is a small sensor box in the boot somewhere which controls the warning light. This had been removed with the standard lights I think, causing it to be permanently on.

cutting the wire worked a treat many thanks i've passed on your tip to another member today (mon 11) thanks again mark
