Had a bit of a scare yesterday - after half hour a cruising the car suddenly started to run rough - real ruff as if it was missing. After a quick chat with the Duff Meister I did a beit of investigation and found a dodgy connector to one of the coils.

 

Iam I right in thinking that to replace the wiring to the coil its a case of replacing the whole loom?

 

After a bit of playing around the car is now running the way it should - but could realy do with it not happening again.

You can get a set of plugs from Courtesy http://www.courtesyparts.com/cgi-bin/miva?onlinestore/merchant.mv+Screen=PROD&Store_Code=CP&Product_Code=24079-00001 that enables you to repair them yourself. Looks like you have to cut them up and solder the connectors into the existing wiring loom. Also, rather annoyingly they come in sets of four (from a Pulsar?), so I suppose you have to buy three sets and do two cars at once, or maybe just replace the knackered ones (all of them LOL). You can buy a new section of loom, think Tim and maybe Az have done this. Doubt it's cheap at UK prices though and bound to be a sod to fit ...

About 350 squids for a new engine bay wiring loom Mark but labour charge at Nelson is about 2 days worth. I was quoted about 1200 squids all in by my local Delia.

 

Either get the entire loom from Courtesy which is what Az did I think or as Mr. P suggests get the Pulsar plugs and just replace the nastey ones.
