Pressure in cooling System.......expensive.....

Car idles at standard temp but drive .5 mile and temp rockets rapidly....rad cap lifts dumping water to the expansion tank...which thenn overflows...ouch...

Head gasket???? or could it be something else? less or more expensive.

Car obviously off road..and missing it.....

Going to have to bite the bullet...me thinks

If you're very lucky it could be as simple as an air lock in the cooling system, or maybe the water pump has seized. You could first try draining and refilling the system.

Very slim chance that it could just be a faulty rad cap - if the pressure isn't maintained in the cooling system it will boil and cause all sorts of problems...

Try a known good cap first just to be sure wink.gif

Apart from that not too sure. Can't see the water pump seizing cos if that was the case, the alternator and the viscous fan would also stop...
