After changing the rubber rear spoiler on my black zed a year ago to the fiberglass one I have now started on the red swb as it was showing signs of blistering.

It took an hour to get it of and its still in good condition but it had to go before it started to act like a sponge.

Another hour later and the glue and dirt cleaned of and polished ready for the fiberglass spoiler (thanks Chris) which is at the paint shop getting painted ultra red.

Nice work, its on my to do list too, I only hope mine cleans up as well as that :)

My only worry about the original rubber spoiler is when it starts to blister it acts like a sponge and will rot your tailgate so get it of as soon as posible mate.

Mines not that type.

Its a high wing and by all apearances has been on since near new in Japan, so still could be some nasty stuff undernaeth and some selant type stuff to clean up .... I hope its the same colour underneath lol.

What are you replacing it with or are you going spoilerless?

Spoilerless is the plan, all being well.

But I'm derailing your thread, I look forward to the pics when your replacement is back from the paintshop :)

Nice work Gaz, I need to despoiler mine too, I hate my big wing now, used to love it, maybe i`m getting old

Once you have removed the 2 screws fixing the spoiler,

is it just a matter of warming the adhesive tape and then pulling it off the press fixings ?

Looks like mine has leaked and rotted the tailgate below so I will need to remove it so as to repair.

I used a fine string (or fishing line would be better) to cut through the glue.

Another good link mate
