Hi,

I have been toying with the idea of going manual. I know that Zed World can do this, but it is a hell of a lot of money and would probably work out at the same price as buying a complete car?

Any help/recommendations would be great.:surrender:

*tip* turn off the over drive and engauge the power button and enjoy that until such a time you go manual :D

I've got a conversion kit, £500 (still in the car though)

Remember that the Zedworld solution is a drive in drive out hassle free job and the parts are under warranty for a period. New clutch is used which aren't cheap.

Yes it can be done cheaper if you can be bothered with the hassle and are confident in fitting it yourself. Then there is sourcing a kit, running the risk of missing parts, collecting a kit etc etc.

Cheapest DIY solution using 2nd clutch (not wise) is going to be £500

Nothing about a 20yr old 300zx is smart in terms of money ATM at least, the conversion is something you do cos you want to. I decided that it was better to convert my well known and trusted auto then simply swap it for a unknown manual car.

I will tell you that its a better car for it though. Goes better, sounds better, feels better!

Do miss the auto kickdown at 50mph though! That particular part of an auto is faster.
