hp to torque calculation

When you start adding bits to your car to get more hp, how does that effect the torque curve? Say ie: 10 extra ph = approx ? lbs per ft.

Anybody know.

I don't think you'll find that thet two are directly connected. Different mods will have different effects on each characteristic.

Depends if the extra bhp is at the same rpm is the answer wink.gif

 

The equation goes like this:-

 

BHP = TORQUE x RPM / 5252

 

So if the extra power is at the same rpm then you can work it out wink.gif

 

TORQUE = BHP x 5252 / RPM

 

This could be used to calculate the extra torque at the given rpm... Just use your extra HP instead of the BHP and that will give you the extra torque generated.
