Ive got an E46 M3 now, and im falling out of love with the zed.

Its still not finished, and im lossing faith.

 

How fast are they with 400BHP?

Yep, keep the Zed mate. It's in a different league to a common BMW.

The M3 is soooo nice tho...

there's loads of M3's out there the zed is something special and looks much nicer.

Might be a lot out there, but im only driving 1!

Im keeping the M3. Just decided to keep the zed too or not..

Mate if your lucky enough to be in a position where you can keep both, then i guess its just a case of weekdays and weekends or rainy days and sunny days!

Its not always about speed, Im in the same boat as Jim, dont know what to do with the car.

 

If i was jim and the stage his zed is at i would get rid you will only end up hating it more lol!!

M5's arn't faster than M3's. (Maybe an E60, but that expensive!)

M3's arnt slow are they there 5.2 to 60 or somthing like and you dont have to worry about it going bang :lol:

You really seem like you've lost interest in the Zed. Shame, just had another look at your car and spec, its lovely and you've obviously spent thousands!

Hope you can find it again, spring and summer should help.:)

The zed is a great car and the fact you dont see one everytime you go out is a bonus, a tidy zed with 400bhp will no doubt be better than the m3 performance wise anyday however it is a ' new car' and the feel of it is obviously going to be completely different , it's up to you if you can afford to run both or if you just dont like the zed.

 

Imho you have to be passionate about zed's to own one, otherwise you will just lose the feeling with it. So its up to you if you like the car or not .

 

As i've previously said, m3's just dont 'touch' me at all even though its obviously a good car.Completely different owning a nice zed , most people just go ' wow nice car' and the beemers are just too common to be noticed nowadays.

Spec is a bit bigger now and better looking lol!!!! Never use it got a little one on the way and i want to buy a house :yawn:

Think Pixas is spot on, you need to have a passion to appreciate a Z. I haven't driven mine in years but I looked at mine last night and just thought wow! I just think they turn heads and that's what BMW's just dont have (just my opinion). Guess you have to weigh up insurance/tax/mot to justify keeping it too :(

m3 is faster all day long, i have a friend with a e46 m3 csl and its rapido, 4.8 to 60 from the factory, and remapped it can run up to 170mph+

 

no lag, instant acceleration, and revs very fast, traction controls, stability controls, etc etc, it leaves a Z from standstill, and put them both on a wet road.. well we both know the answer.

 

 

from what ive read 400hp needs bigger turbos. and when people with stock tubs state 400hp most people laugh them off in denial.

 

plus as you say it feels and looks much better, having the choice of the 2 i'd be an E46 man all day, comfort, no noise, power, class, stability,reliability. fuel economy, and can take your mates/ family anywhere :-)
