its prob what it would cost to replace, tis a good payout...................

Agreed - it's about time that our cars started to get the recognotion they deserve; and this is a step in the right direction.

It also gives us hope that tidy rust-free examples should command more....

Too true, a great payout indeed.....

I dont know why you are suprised, I was expecting it to be stupid low 'cos I thought that was why Jeff posted it.

But TBH If you want a UK manual TT, you would be looking at that sort of figure to replace it without something that needs some work.

Many many moons ago I wrote off a GPz900R, the first offer from them was about £200 less than I paid, I argued it would cost me more to get one in the same condition, they asked for proof so I posted them a few ads in the papers (no internet like now :p) and I got more than I expected.

You can see why it would get written off though, not sure of the percentage they go to for total loss, but it doesn't take many hours of skilled labour to start snowballing, and then the insurance companies obviously cost parts using brand new ....

That was my poor old car. To be honest I was thinking of selling it soon anyway and was worried I wouldn't even get that much for it as it was starting to get rather haggard so I'm happy with how things turned out really. Just got the fun of getting a new car now, not sure what to get though...

Anyways, it was a fun first car to own!
