I think I know the answer to this one, but thought it best to check, when changing the propshaft does the gearbox let any fluid out, will it need topping up afterwards?

I'm thinking it won't, am I right?

Cheers....

I made a temporary bung out of an aerosol cap with some gaffer tape wrapped around it to make it a little bit bigger, worked a treat, however I did have my gearbox at an angle as only the front of the car was jacked up.... Easy to do tho should you want to...

I'm fitting an OEM brand spanker complete with new centre bearing already installed so no need to split it as it should already be perfectly balanced and ready to roll!

What's wrong with the old one? Is it a manual?

Did a auto manual conversion some time back, had to split the auto prop and fit the front half of the manual prop, so the 2 halves have never been balanced and the bearing was getting on. I also think the U/Js are getting tired. Get some vibration thru the seat when cold which wasn't there b4 conversion. Brand new gearbox mount fitted too so not that.

I'm still on a misson to get the car perfect so another new OEM part is the way forward.

Too true, its got more new parts than old now!

Let us know if you`ve got rid of the vibration once the job is done! I get some vibration myself but thinking of buying the one Jeff has - one piece - Cheers

Ok, will do. Have you checked your rear box mount out?

No I have not checked, but from the advice I have received must be the bearing....so I will buy the new prop Jeff has and hope for the best... The car is not in the UK so I cannot take it to the Jeff`s workshop...
