has anybody got the little black box which fits inside the drivers door for the electric window. not the part where the buttons are but the black box down from the switches is that the relay box? 300zxTT, 1990 jap import.

Interesting you should mention that box. I removed it many months ago as I think it's part of the keyless entry system. Mines a jap that came with key only, no squirter to atuo unlock the doors. All was well, but months later the passenger window would not operate from the drivers side switch. I'm still trying to sort it. Question is, are you sure the relay is this black box?

 

...I'd be interested to hear as you may have solved the problem - if not, then I do have the black box you are talking about - but it might not be of any use.

i opened the black box and the relay is in their for the window drivers side only. passenger window still works with box disconected, all i had wrong was a solder joint broke.re solderd now works fine. had a look inside passenger door no relay box inside.

 

...so I'm back to square one. I'm sure the box I removed had a label on it about remote central locking and that there was no 'box' for the switches/windows. I rigged up a fake earth to get the passenger window to work - but I'm still looking for the cause.

the black box relay for the window is about three inchs long with 8pins at the front for the plug with the wires to fit into. its about six inches from the bottom of the door half way along inside. u can get to it with out taking the door cover of it just slide of the braket but with box removed passenger window still works sorry mate
