Started off a jump pack and seems to be running as I remember it doing although there is now a fairly noisey ticking noise coming from near the top of the engine. Do you think its just a matter of letting her run for oil and water to circulate to normal operating temperate or something more sinister? There is a small patch on the ground underneath the engine so could just be a matter of topping up with oil?

could be a sticky lifter, mine is suffering from it for a few months but ive not driven her on a good distance.

I think all the oil drain out of them and you end up with the ticking. it should go with a decent run. mine goes with a bit of a blip on the throttle

Sounds the same to me, Trouble is I cant take her for a good run because its sorn, without MOT and the prop is hanging off haha.

Its ok, once I get the bearing done on the prop (courtesy of Slick Pete) all the bodywork done (spoiler, machine polish, ducts, maybe skirts) MOT tax and insurance i'll be able to take her on a blast on hopefully March 1st!!?!?!

as said its probably a lifter, so best way is to give it good run really, i've used lifter treatment in the past that has helped :)

always surprises me how they just burst into life, ive not started mine for a month or two before turned the key and bang straight on not even a hint of thinking about notr starting.

I hate the fact that 'they' crack up quick, I sit there thinking 'calm down let the oil get round' LOL!:turned:

my old car you had to flick the feul pump on listebn to it till it primes fully and fills the float champers give it a pump or two and turn the key and snap crackle. maybe a backfire if you poured a little too much in hahaha that was good fun nice shinny inner wing where the oil etc had burned off.

Hmm, charged the battery up overnight and replaced it following afternoon... car started first time again but this time no ticking. Must have been the engine trying to conk out due to an over flat battery
