I have a 99 version S, it doesnt have the rear spoiler and my question to you guys is, would you add the 99 spec rear spoiler or would you leave it as it came from the factory?

It's really up to how you want it.

The Version S never had the spoiler, whereas the Version R did. So do you want originality, or cosmetics?......

do you have a pic of your car without it??

basically it's 99 spec without the rear spoiler.

Thats pretty much what I was wondering and now you have mentioned the difference I think I'll leave it as is, I'm a bit of purist especially with cars that are a bit rare.

ive seen that house before, you didnt sell a red uk zed some months ago did ya?

if it was mine id have the spoiler fitted but as said it's your choice :)

I know what you mean, it does seem a little bare at the back.

was it that long?, lovely motor (both new and old), i have a unique nack of remembering certain usless facts lol

Just what i was thinking!..:cool3:

it might not have came as standard on the version S, but it would have been an optional factory extra.....so I dont believe being purist really comes into it.

If you like it then add it. I personally think the LWB does'nt look quite right bare.

Yeah the red car was nice, one of the cleanest UK cars I've had. I'm planning on keeping the Version S and would like to do just one or two things to it.

I'd like the original JDM radio and CD player or DSP unit that sits below. I noticed on this car though that the OEM radio plugs are different from the earlier cars?

OH RIGHT! Didnt think about that! That surely wouldnt take away from the purist thing then. The other thing I didnt the idea of doing was, drilling holes in the lid to fit the spoiler, I know its necessary but just didnt like the thought lol.

agreed and as said i feel the lwb needs something on the back!

you can get spoilers from me if you wish.

Imo a lwb also needs somthing on the rear :)

deffo add the rear IMO! But then I am biased! :sorcerer:

Have to say that does look good! Is there an exact position the spoiler should sit at on the lid so that its the same positioning as OEM?

Could be interested yet after seeing those last pics lol! Can you PM me a price please?

As my learned friends say - whilst the SWB looks OK without, the LWB definitely needs a spoiler to finish it off. Whether you go 1990 spec or 1999 spec is up to you (me, I like the first option best) but Car.Mad will sort you out mate!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Yes, hang on a minute.....

Thanks for the info Dave! I'll print that off and if I go for the spoiler will hand it over to the body shop if and when I go down that route.

So next question is, I'd like to get the OEM JDM radio and CD player or DSP unit that sits below the radio, as I mentioned a few threads back, the OEM radio plugs on my car are different form the earlier cars, has anyone come across this before? and has anyone got the radio and cd player or DSP thing?
