was on way home from work when 2 racers come along.

 

there i was thinking "why not?" so put my boot in. s2ooo was pretty quick but i kept in front of him then the rx8 started pushing. Well that was it boot in a bit more! Soon feeling like maybe i'm hitting terminal velocity!

 

I was very proud of my little r reg 2ltr mondeo cos she was running off the clock and still felt like she had a bit more left and i was keeping in front of the other cars.

 

Then as i was going around a round-a-bout in 3rd gear with plumes of smoke billowing from the offside front tyre i suddenly had a flash of genius(this is getting a bit silly now and you should just back it down a bit).

 

so i just eased off the loud pedal and let them pass me.

 

Sure don't think i will be doing it again too soon although it was very good fun :drool:

haha, had a kid in a punto try and race the zed off the lights the other day and i thought why not i had that same flash when i realised how unsporting i was being and how he appeared to be traveling backwards. my farther has an rx8 the 230 not the 180 and its alright revs pretty high but on the motorway the zed freaks him out because it just arrives at his window from no where apprantly

2ltr mondeo whipped an S2000? The most powerful normally asperated 2ltr engine ever produced in a production car in a 2 seater as light as a crisp packet? :confused1:

not all people know or dare push a car fast. going past 140 will scare a few people.

 

Sorry but how will a mondeo 2.0 keep up with an S2000 up to 140mph in the first place :lol:

well seeings as it was a public road they were all doing the speed limit so acceration wasnt an issue it was all about how they held there car through the corners of this tight section of otherwise empty road in a safe way that led him to his victory. isnt that right.........:D

ah the old mismatched battle situation... I remember driving down a hereford B road in my standard 1.8 mx5, to suddenly find a 3.0 audi right on my bumper... just as the road turned twisty, the mx5 shines! The audi could keep up on the straights, but every corner i could brake later, turn in harder and get on the gas sooner, so gradually pulled out a bit of a lead.

 

Then the road straightened out, flash of awareness, so slowed down to 50 to let him overtake.

 

Hes probably still bullying mx5 drivers, but i like to think i showed him that through the twisty stuff theres not much that can keep up!

If you read it again, basically the mondeo was in the way of the S2000 and RX8 as they were behind the mondeo...

hehe, on the way to bham a few months ago saw a 458 italia on the motorway. tried to race him but he wasnt having any of it, think he got scared when he saw three big hairy guys in a sports car next to him! he dropped back a bit after that. no doubt who the winner wouldve been.... :whistling:

Lol true - somehow we managed 135 out of our Ford Probe last month, was bloody brilliant, didn't think Ford engines had it in em!

actually a ford zetec crank is good for 500 bhp. not too shabby really

 

Am actually shocked at how nippy Marc's Puma is actually, ok so nothing like as fast as my Zed, MR2, his Celica, Lude or indeed his Probe, but hell, its a fun car, can really bung it about. I no longer feel totally meh about Fords!

as i stated mate it was me that backed off. i braked and he pissed past me like i was driving a sinclair c5

I once dropped a V6-Turbo in one of these and surprised a few people from the lights!
