Cheers Andy, bit strange though no pot what do you think a series III ecu ?

How would I identify it ? and would it be fair to say that the chip from an earlier one might not work correctly?

AFAIK it's very different. Should you have a 16bit ecu then the 8 bit chip won't work. Best bet is to call JWT or post on TT.net

Series 2 UK Z's ont have the Pot from what i have seen - Access the Diags via the Consult Port.

From my experience you can Fit the JWT in with the pot and the LED as long as you specify the Year and the Territory to JWT when you order the chip. I personally Fitted one to DaveW's car and he has had no problems to date that i know of.

Use a cloned chip at your own risk and not that their are a number or Significant differences across the series that mean running old ECU's on them could very well be dangerous for the car and engine.

Im not sure what year the ECU changed over to 16bit boreds I do know that 96 onwards in Japan have self contained ROM systems which can't be upgraded in the same way - Series 2 are more than likely just 16bit so you will need the ECU with the Daughterbored not just the single Chip replacement from the 8bit ECU's.
