Not cheap for what you get really, I got my other half to sell her MGTF (hated it) and bought a TT instead. Had it two years with no problems apart from 2 coi packs, previous owner fitted cheap ones.

I love the little mg handles great, reason she has fell out of love with it ,is she lost it going to work one evening on slippery icey conditions not totaly but enough to scare her and she has not driven it since [at night]

TT out of my price range:blushing:

Electric windows go on them ALL THE TIME

Thanks for the heads up, tbh little things like that are a pain but i am more worid about engine box etc

A mate of mine works in the factory at Cowley where they build them, which

one are you thinking of getting?

I'll ask him what he reckons.

The build on them is very cheap as is the dash imo. The S is great fun but i would much prefer the MGF TF

My sister had one for a few years until recently. Funky and well built interior, esp compared to other small hatches.

Fun to drive, although ride is quite firm and very little rear or boot space.

Sod em' both and get an MR2!:tooth:

Mini is nasty and Mg's are metro's with a frock on!

Could get an SLK for mini money.

The new Mini was a real success story unlike the new Beetle which is utter shite.....

.....so, being a BMW, I'd reckon on them being fairly reliable. Although the newer cars do have Peugeot engines in some variants (which would put me right off).

Richard:winkiss:

PS I did the factory tour a couple of years ago - thoroughly interesting experience!!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Thanks guys your opinions count as always:yes:

If my Mrs had her way she would have a 207 peugeot but i thought the mini would be a bit more fun!

It has to be a small 4 str because of the 3 girls we have, and she is always darting about in the galaxy we have which is a pig in traffic and car parks....well according to the mrs:pinch:

have had ours for 5yrs very reliable the only thing dependin what year you are looking at a clutch change at bmw is £1500 as front of car has to be taken apart to get at gearbox also early gearboxes are from rover 100 so not that good put a reconditioned one in last year cost 300 plus 300 for my mate to do it aparently newer ones are worse the guy in gearbox says thats the only bad point that we1ve had .

my friend has just bought his daugter one ...nimble , safe sure footed car ..bigger than you would think ..no longer a mini more golf sized ..roomy enough ...built to a budget inetrior but built well....the mini one is quicker than a cooper if chipped still has funky looks and a timeless design ......plenty of tack can be bought for them as well
