In the UK I can recommend York and Bath.......

.....Overseas, and if you're taking the dog, then I guess it has to be Europe and not too far; so I can recommend Bruges. The land of beer, chocolate and chips. What else do you need!!

Plus the fact Bruges a lovely place to visit anyway; lots of canal side walks, nice restaurants etc etc....

agree there Richard but the wife and myself found it very expensive

York or Newcastle, loads to do in both cities.

Or, what about Bristol? Lovely city! Went back there last year, having lived there for 12 years for uni and after graduating - wow! Its lovely, the whole place has been completely revamped, can't wait to go back. Lots to do there too!

I would always try to get out of the UK!

Krakow is a great place as mentioned! Bruges was nice too.

Lille or Paris are easy to get to & doesnt have to be too expensive!

:)

Oh yeah Bruges been there a few times and that really is a majical place, take a horse drawn carriage ride or a boat trip on the river. 10/10 and a quality place to go with good food and beer and hardly any Germans!.

Florence in italy ...wonderfull place and not as expensive as i thought it would be ..so relaxed

going to look into florence looked at milan which looks really nice

going to look into krakow in poland to never thought of there

Rome...

Been to many European cities and Rome was head and shoulders above the rest.

Prague was also good (not in the 'english lad's stag holiday' way)

Barcelona was excellent too, but that's already been mentioned (going to the top of the Gaudi Cathederal and shitting myself was spectacular!)

Also, S-c-u-n-t-horpe is particularly nice that time of year:whistling:
