just wondering if anyone her can tell me how much holidays i am due?

 

my contract say i get 23 working days from my start date till 31 march pro rata

 

i started on the 9 august

The Working Time Regulations provide that employees and workers1 are entitled to four weeks leave per year. If you normally work a five day week this means 20 days leave per year.

That's right - the minimum legal requirement is 20 days plus 8 days in respect of the normal statutory holidays per annum. Whilst there is no direct entitlement to receiving the actual bank holidays, employers must still give you 8 days off in respect of them (they can either be taken on the actual b/h days, or later in lieu of them).

 

So if you started on 9/8/10 - and I assume your employer only counts whole months service - your entitlement would be 7/12ths of 28 days; or 16.5 rounded up including bank holidays, to 31/3/11.
