Before I put my engine back into the Z, I think I'm going to replace the engine loom - coz it's all gone crispy!

Question is: If I order a new loom, will I get one designed for a 93+ Z - i.e. with the newer PTU? I've got a 91 Z you see, and reckon I might as well replace the PTU at the same time, since its only a matter of time before it dies imo.

Cheers guys n gals! smile.gif

No, I don't think so.

I ordered a new loom but it came with the old connectors.

You have to get a pre 93 loom for your Zed, that's why.

Cheers Maciej, I was hoping that would be the answer.

Simon;

You can get a US loom BTW - LHD loom - and fit it to a RHD car, if you want to save money (it's half the price of getting a UK loom!), however there are three things you'll need to do;

1) Splice into the purple wire (I can look up the pin # for you) on the ECU connector, and add a pin to the white EGI->body loom connector, which is connected into this purple wire (it's a fuel pump control wire, which routes a different way on LHD cars).

2) You may have to move the PRVR solenoid closer to the engine - rather than it being on the wing, or extend the wiring (I moved the solenoid)

3) You'll have a bit of 'extra' loom, that you need to cram out of the way by the battery.. Makes getting to the A/C fill/purge valves a bugger without moving stuff..
