over Christmas my dials started acting up, rev counter stopped working then the speedo stoped working then all the lights came on then few days later it all gave up and the car wouldn't start.

rang an auto electrician who came and told me there was a "+" missing from the dials to the fuse box which caused all the faults so he bypassed the dials and went from the batt to the fuse box, car started but the dials were still poorly.

as of right now nothing works except...

-a very dim battery light is always on

-the blue high beam dash light works

-fuel gauge works

-dimable dash/dial illumination lights

so! what do i need to buy? new dials? is this a known fault?

have you checked the charge from the alternator when running with accesorys OFF and accessorys ON, is possible to show a decent charge with engine running and everything off and low charge with lights radio etc on.

this could be causing a fault also check the main fuses on the driverside bulk head by the suspension strut
