This is a new problem that arisen in the last few weeks!

When putting the pedal to the metal and going say more than 60mph

my zed seems to cut out then go full throttle again then cut out.

If I drive normally upto and over 80 then it's fine, I just can't floor it!

Could this be a boost leak? I can hear the turbos spinning up fine.

Also what effect would having a smaller bore exhaust do as I got

a local garage to swap over the exhaust from my old NA as it looked

a more meaner exhaust but the back pipes are connecting look thinner

Could the exhaust now not be big enough bore and the engines choking

itself !

Cheers folks

The exhaust isnt the problem!

Boost leak poss, or maf, loose injector, ptu & coil pack conectors do this as when the engine rocks the wires pull etc .. Start with the connectors eliminate the easy fixes

prob not the same, but mine was doing this, but my speed sensor wasn't working an the wires were broke, i push the middle of the speed sensor back in an glued, conected wires an car has ran great since :confused1::confused:

Where's the speed sensor?

Do you think changing the guage cluster could be the issue!

Wasn't that long ago I installed a series 4 Nismo cluster.

Speed sensor is on the gearbox mate.

Would having a speedo converter wired up bad give the same results ?

I'm thinking I'll switch back to the old cluster as a test !

Right, striped down the dash and popped in my old cluster with and without

the convertor and its still farts like a 2 bob hooker after a rear shafting !

mind my language as i'm frustrated now over this problem.

I've checked all connections, run conzult and no errors so the only thing

i can think off is a massive boost leak at full throttle.

I've had soo many problems with my zed since i swapped the plennum for

the polished one that i'm tempted now to swap back just to prove my own

point to myself - that the plenum just does not fit properly on my series 4.

Bummer !!

lol.

If the problem has started since you changed the plenum mate then I would suggest that maybe that's where the problem is. Maybe the gasket is leaking and causing a boost leak. When I put my plenum back on I used the gasket and silicon gasket all round. Just a thought.

Could check all vac pipes etc and the pcv's aren't stuck before taking the Plenum off, just a thought.

Ok before u go too mad try running the engine while spraying some wd40 around all poss vac leak areas Even around throttle bodies & at the rear around the idle control valve! Then try around the plenum! Doing it like this if there is a leak it should suck the wd40 in & raise the revs! ;)

OK,

I went all mad today and strip'd down the plenum & found my problem straight away !

Well i hope its my problem.

When i took off the plenum and discovered oil all over the rear part of the gasket.

I've decided just to try and put the old non polished plennum back on and see

if all my problems go away for now, likely this happened because there are a

few suttle differences between a series 4 and series 2 plenum and you can't

get a properly flush seal.
