any ideas on why the factory fitted LCD clock in my 93 nissan keeps resetting itself to 01:00, its getting to be that every time i get in the car it needs setting to the right time, which it then keeps until the car is next used ...

It may not need fixing, have you checked whether the power to the clock is maintained when the ignition is off ?

I had this similar problem, i noticed my boost controller had being wired into the clock and it seemed to reset itself when the controller turned itself on. and now its just stopped working alltogether. if anybody has one going i'll quite happily take it off their hands.

mine used to reset itself every time i turned the car on . i dont know if its connected in any way or whether it was just a bit of luck but my interior light had a blown bulb . i replaced the bulb and the clock started working as it should .

sometimes as you start the car, if your earth's aren't the best or maybe your battery is on its way out, the drain is enough to kill any constant live backed up accessories, cd player, clock, carputer etc. mine did this for a while and i had a dodgy connection on my neg terminal on the battery.

Yes check the negative terminal connection on the battery. Mine worked loose and the clock was an indication of this by resetting every so often.

i suspect now that it is being affected by the extreme cold weather, used car over the weekend , no problem with display.
