Hi everyone, been browsing the site now on and off for a few months whilst waiting for a decent UK, Manual, TT Z to show up and have found the community to be very helpful. I hope I can be a good member too!

After reading everyone's comments, I was happy to see the following appear on PistonHeads:

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2366831.htm

Just wondering if anyone can see any newbie mistakes I might be making in purchasing this?

Obviously I need to go see it (bout an hours travel) but it appears to have been treated well. All the work (ecu & turbo upgrade, engine and cambelt replacement) has apparently been carried out at Z World (I'll obviously check the receipts but they seem very geniune!).

Any help/comments would be greatly appreciated at all. Thanks again to the community as a whole for the info I have gleaned so far.

It does look a good example but yep seeing it is the key, maybe see if someone local can come with you to have a check over

Thanks for taking the time to look for me :-)

If anyone's interested, the car's located on the Isle of Sheppey.

I've done some financials and can't decide whether to keep my 2004 Corsa that I've had since new (and is immaculate!) and get the Z for fun! I only do around 6000 miles a year anyway but I hear so many owners selling because of running costs, rear seats etc that I think it may be worth keeping the not-worth-a-lot runaroud too.

Does anyone really do this or am I living in a fantasy?

ahhh ok did not kniow it was there should of looked harder, unsure if we have a member on the island but maybe close to you? ....and yes i would keep the run around, i just got a litlle fiesta for just that, the Zed is now my project after being sorn'ed for 6months now :(

someone may also recognise the plate and know who's hands it's been in etc

Ps: is this the first one you have looked at?

Lol, sadly no.

Looked at a freshly imported Version R that was just too expensive and a JAP NA AUTO white K that quickly sold. Both looked very tidy - although being imports that seems to be the way!

Anywhere you'd suggest posting to see if anyone knows about the car? I'm a little unsure and don't want to plaster posts everywhere.

Thanks for the advice!

I would say its safe here as people will see it and comment if they know it i'm sure :)

I think i know the version r you are talking about they are rare but do crop up once in a blue moon,

if you really are set on this one though (inspection depending) ...and want more info on it you could put a does anyone know this car thread in the Z related general discussion part of the forum

If you only cover 6000 miles a year then i'd normally suggest its not worth keeping the run-around. But that's only if its a financial consideration. The costs of taxing, insuring, servicing etc the corsa would more than offset the extra petrol the zed would consume. However, it is nice to have a second set of wheels for when it breaks :x:

As a person who has six cars though i'd say keep the corsa - variety is the spice of life

If you can afford to - keep a run around - i have an old scirocco which gets all dirty during the week ...... although when the zed is working, the 'ol rocco doesn't get to do many miles to be honest.

Looking at the PH ad, it all looks nice and clean, but that is quite high milage.... nice colour though, and all that history helps, make sure you see a dyno for that 400hp.

By the way welcome to the club.

Hi Adam,

firstly welcome to the club!

That looks a tidy Uk spec in the pics - and if it's been maintained by Zedworld, do give Jeff a call. He's extremely helpful and will tell you all you need to know about that particular car.

It doesn't look like a car I have seen on here before but if you want to view it, I'm sure there might be a local member who could meet you there and check it out with you.

Good luck in your search,

Richard:thumbup1:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
